Principal's Corner

Kurtis Sufka PictureAt Glenbrook, our motto of “Love, Laughter, and Learning” is on display every day and I am proud to be a part of such an enthusiastic and positive learning community.  At Glenbrook, we believe in building strong positive partnerships between our school and its families in order to provide the absolute best for our students academically, emotionally, and socially.  These parent partnerships, along with a dedicated and caring staff, are the hallmark of our school.

Glenbrook Elementary uses Tools of the Mind and Into Reading as its reading curriculum to teach and promote a love of books.  We use Stepping Stones for our math curriculum, offer Early World Language to our kindergarten through fifth grade students, and use hands on kits for teaching science.  Along with all of this, each student also has their own iPad to not only consume content, but to promote creation and collaboration across all academic areas. Glenbrook also uses “Target Time”, a 30 minute/day program in grades 1-5 dedicated to offering intervention and enrichment activities, for students in areas such as reading and math.

Glenbrook Elementary is a PBIS school that promotes and teaches positive behaviors.  PBIS is an initiative that recognizes our students for their "Respectful, Responsible, and Safe" behaviors.  The program is a large part of our school culture and has been successful in recognizing literally thousands and thousands of positive student behaviors since its implementation!

Glenbrook also offers numerous other clubs and programs, such as student council, choir, school safety patrol, a spring running club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, PACE after school program, and numerous other community sponsored activities, clubs, and athletic programs.

On behalf of everyone here at Glenbrook, thank you for visiting our school’s website.  We are excited that you have taken some time to learn a little bit more about our school, as well as all of the great things happening here and in our community.  From our school’s Facebook page and X (formerly Twitter) feed, to our PBIS and PTO web pages, I hope that you’ll find everything you need just a few “clicks” away. If not, please be sure to contact us here at school.  It is our privilege to help our parents and students in any way that we can.
